|
THREE men sexually assaulted and 18-year-old woman
in Burton yesterday.
The woman was driving west
along Waterloo Corner Rd
about 3.20am when she saw the
men standing in the middle of
the road.
When she stopped her car the
three men approached her.
She was hit by one of the men
through her open window and
lost consciousness.
The woman woke 35 minutes
later and the men had gone.
During that time the car had
been moved from the middle of
the road to the side, and had
been parked on an angle.
Police would not comment on
whether there had been any
evidence of forced entry into
the car, but said they believe
the woman was sexually assaulted during half hour period.
The men are described as
Aboriginal and all in their 30s.
One bad a stocky build and a
bushy goatee beard.
The woman was taken to the
Lyell McEwin Hospital where
she was treated and allowed to
leave. She was not seriously
injured.
Acting Superintendent of the
Sexual Crime Investigation
Branch has appealed for anyone who was driving along
Waterloo Corner Rd at Burton
between 3.20am and 3.55am to
come forward to police.
At that time, the woman's
vehicle, a 1989 white Ford Laser
sedan, was parked at an angle
on the southern side of the road
between Kensington Way and
Bolivar Rd.
