Rapist Attacks 10 Times In Two Weeks

NORTHERN Territory Police want to speak to a man in relation to a spree of sickening sex attacks.
The string of increasingly violent assaults has terrorised women in Darwin's northern suburbs.
Security footage image was shot at a Nightcliff service station and police hope the man can help with their inquiries.
In the most serious attack so far, a woman was battered and raped while riding home from work along Trower Rd about 10pm on Monday.
The attack - believed to be the 10th assault by the same offender in less than two weeks - prompted police to issue a warning yesterday for women not to walk alone in the northern suburbs until he is caught.
The 35-year-old rape victim was riding her bicycle when the offender rode up behind her and stole a bag from her carrier rack.
After catching up with the thief in the grounds of Casuarina Senior College the woman was punched in the face and violently raped.
Police believe the same offender is responsible for three other attempted robberies and indecent assaults earlier the same evening.
A 40-year-old woman was approached in Grevillea Circuit in Nightcliff and indecently assaulted before a 24-year-old woman walking along Aralia St suffered the same fate by an offender matching the same description.
Just 10 minutes before the sexual assault, a 49-year-old woman walking alone along Bougainvilia St had her handbag stolen by a man on a bicycle.
Police believe the same offender is responsible for six indecent assaults over five days in the Nightcliff area earlier this month.
Major and Organised Crime Detective Acting Superintendent Scott Pollock said police are concerned by the escalation of violence in the attacks.
The alleged offender is described as between 16 and 20 years of age, of Aboriginal appearance, with brown eyes, dark short curly hair and about 175cm tall.

Serial Pervert Preys On Bus Stop Women

POLICE are hunting a pervert they believe responsible for a string of increasingly violent assaults on women.
Casuarina police received five reports from young women claiming they had been indecently assaulted at Darwin suburb Nightcliff in just six days by a man fitting the same description.
Senior Constable Tanya Woodcock said they have "been at the more serious end of the scale".
"There has been an escalation in violence and it looks like they have been attacks of opportunity, the victims have all been on their own with no bystanders around," she said.
"The public should be vigilant and women in the area should not travel alone."
In the latest attack, about 4.15pm (ACST) last Friday, an 18-year-old woman waiting at the bus stop opposite Nightcliff High was punched and kicked by a man who exposed himself to her.
The victim told police the offender stopped in front of her on his bicycle before exposing himself. He grabbed her purse and punched the woman in the head before riding away.
As the victim was retrieving the contents of her purse from the road she was kicked in the back from behind and in the stomach by the same offender who then fled the scene.
Earlier the same day, a 25-year-old woman waiting at the Ryland Rd bus stop near the Chapman Rd intersection about 9.45am was touched indecently by the same offender.
The woman told police the offender approached her on a mountain bike and asked if he could talk to her.
When she refused he became aggressive and attempted to restrain her from behind.
She managed to break free before the offender rode off on his bicycle.
Police also received three similar reports of indecent assaults on Nightcliff Rd on August 12 that match the description of the man.
The offender is described as aged between 17 and 20, of part Aboriginal appearance with brown eyes, short dark curly hair and approximately 175cm tall.
