THREE men have been charged with more than 200 child sex offences after police found graphic internet images of sex acts involving young boys on Queensland's Sunshine Coast. The three men, all of whom are convicted pedophiles serving terms in Brisbane's Wolston Correctional Centre, will face court next month. The Queensland Police Service announced yesterday that its anti-pedophile unit, Taskforce Argos, was advised by US authorities in April that more than 450 images of "young male children engaging in graphic sexual activities" had been found on the internet. Examining the images, Argos detectives discovered that a number of the boys had been photographed at locations on the Sunshine Coast between February 2000 and November 2003. The three men, aged 29, 31 and 26, were ordered to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on August 21 on a total of 202 child sex charges. The 29-year-old man, from Strathpine in Brisbane's outer northern suburbs, will face 97 charges including taking indecent photographs of a child under 16, sodomy of a child under 12, and procuring a child to engage in carnal knowledge. The 31-year-old, from the north Brisbane suburb of Bray Park, faces 79 charges including taking an indecent photograph of a child under 16, procuring a child under 16 to commit an indecent act, sodomy of a child under 12 and occupying a premises where children were indecently dealt with. The 26-year-old, from the bayside suburb of Thorneside, is charged with 26 offences including indecent dealing with a child under 16 and taking indecent photographs of a child under 16. The arrest of the three prisoners was the second major child pornography swoop this year involving US authorities. Four Australian men - including two from Brisbane, one from Mill Park in Victoria and one from Newcastle in NSW - were arrested in March over an internet child pornography ring in which children as young as 18 months old were sexually molested and the video footage shown live on the internet. The four men were among 29 people arrested in Australia, the US, Canada and Britain in an operation led by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement. A 38-year-old former Brisbane teacher - now in custody - is accused of being the gatekeeper for the global ring, which provided "molestation on demand" through live internet streaming to members in four countries.
