Man Volunteers Computer Over Child Pics

THE man behind an Internet website containing hundreds of images of children taken secretly at Queensland parks and playgrounds has volunteered his computer to police.
A police spokeswoman today said following media coverage of the site, the Brisbane man voluntarily contacted police to "clarify his motives for establishing the website". She said police last night visited the man at his home.
"The man voluntarily agreed that police could view his computer and take his hard drive for further scientific examination," she said.
Queensland's paedophilia Taskforce Argos has launched an investigation into the website which shows hundreds of photos of children in swimming costumes and wet clothes.
Police said the photos were taken on the foreshore in Cairns in far north Queensland and at South Bank near Brisbane's CBD - the site of a child sex attack last week.
Brisbane's Courier-Mail newspaper today said the site, which has since been shut down, had links to an international paedophile ring.
The paper said the website was traced to an internet exchange newsgroup for child pornography headed by a person known as "Groucho, the Dean of Pedo University".
Included on the site is a 29-page "Beginner's Guide" which details how paedophiles can exchange child pornography without being caught, an etiquette code for members and a ratings guide to more than 10 secret child pornography sites, the newspaper said.
The police spokeswoman said Taskforce Argos was investigating the paper's allegations.
