Shocked police launch hunt for violent pack-rape gang in Port Macquarie

Police are hunting a pack of men who viciously raped a woman while she was walking home from a nightclub in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police said the woman was walking along William St, Port Macquarie, near the intersection of Murray St, about 2.30am when she was grabbed by three men and pushed to the ground. The trio pinned her down and indecently assaulted her. One of the men sexually assaulted her.
The 20-year-old victim reportedly passed out during the “brazen” attack, which happened in the middle of the CBD just minutes from the nightclub where she had been with friends earlier that night. The men then fled the scene and left the woman unconscious on the ground. She was found by a passer-by.
She was taken to Port Macquarie Hospital for treatment.
The brazen attack shocked police. Port Macquarie Superintendent Steve Clarke said the attack was “disgusting” and the woman was “devastated.”
Police are reviewing CCTV footage and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
One of the attackers is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged in his early 20s, with short brown spiky hair, wearing a red and white striped shirt and blue jeans. The other two men were about 20 years old.
