Offence/ Sentence: Sentenced in October 2003 to a maximum 18 yrs jail. Found guilty on 23 charges of abuse. Already serving a minimum 6 1/2yr jail term (imposed in 1999).
Other: One of Australias worst paedophiles. Former Catholic Priest (Defrocked in 1984/ Still practised as a renegade priest after convictions/ continued to run karate camps for thousands of children at his "Karaglen" property in Vic)/ Scout chaplain. Prior convictions. Convicted in 1978- 2yrs jail, indecent assault, victim was a 14yr old girl. Convicted in 1991- 9yrs jail/ 7yrs non parole, convicted 5 counts of sexual assault, victims 3 girls/ 1 boy. Convicted in 1999- 8 1/2yrs jail/ 6 1/2yrs non parole, six victims. Preyed on other victims while awaiting trial on other sex charges. Derryn Hinch (radio broadcaster), exposed him in a radio campaign and was jailed for it in 1987 for 12days/ fined $15,000.
